Automatic Feeder Questions

Do VOLUAS automatic feeders require Wi-Fi?

Most VOLUAS standard automatic feeders are programmed directly on the built-in LCD control panel and do not require Wi-Fi or an app.

How many meals can I schedule per day?

VOLUAS standard automatic feeders can schedule up to 4 meals per day.

How many portions can I set for each meal?

You can set 0–40 portions per meal, depending on your pet’s feeding needs.

How much food is one portion?

For many VOLUAS feeder models, one portion is approximately 10g. Actual portion weight may vary based on kibble size, shape, and density. We recommend testing a few portions with your pet’s food before setting a full daily schedule.

Can I use wet food or semi-moist food in the feeder?

No. VOLUAS automatic feeders are designed for dry pet food only. Do not use wet, semi-moist, sticky, or oily food, as it may clog the dispenser.

What size kibble works best?

Use dry kibble that flows smoothly through the dispenser (about 2-10mm). Very large, irregular, soft, sticky, or oily kibble may not dispense consistently.

Can I use the feeder for cats and dogs?

Yes. VOLUAS automatic feeders are designed for cats and small to medium pets that eat dry food. Always confirm that the meal size and bowl height are suitable for your pet.

Can the feeder be used for multiple cats?

Yes, but a standard single-bowl feeder does not recognize individual pets. If your cats need separate bowls or more balanced shared feeding, choose a VOLUAS dual-bowl feeder designed for two pets.

Does the dual-bowl feeder divide food evenly?

The dual-bowl feeder is designed to divide food into two bowls at the same time. The final distribution may vary slightly depending on kibble size, shape, and how level the feeder is placed.

Can I use the feeder for a pet on a regulated diet?

Yes. The adjustable portion settings can help support a scheduled feeding routine. For pets with medical or weight-control needs, please follow your veterinarian’s feeding guidance and test the actual food amount before regular use.

Does the feeder have battery backup?

Many VOLUAS automatic feeders support dual power: USB power for daily use and 3 D-cell alkaline batteries as backup. Batteries were not included, so please check your product listing.

Should I use the power cable or batteries?

For daily use, we recommend using the power cable. Batteries are best used as backup power during outages or when an outlet is not available.

What type of batteries does the feeder use?

Most standard VOLUAS feeders use 3 D-cell alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries. Remove batteries if the feeder will not be used for a long time.

Will the feeder keep working during a power outage?

If backup batteries are installed correctly, the feeder can continue working during a power outage. We recommend checking the battery indicator before leaving home for an extended period.

What does the low battery indicator mean?

If the low battery light is on or flashing, replace the batteries soon to help avoid missed meals.

Will the feeding schedule be lost if power is disconnected?

Many VOLUAS feeders are designed to help retain settings, but we recommend checking the clock and feeding schedule after a power outage, battery replacement, or long period without power.

How do I set the feeder clock?

Unlock the control panel, then use the SET button to set the system time to your local time. After setting the hour and minute, continue setting each scheduled meal time and portion amount.

Why is the feeder using military time?

Some feeder models use a 24-hour clock format. For example, 18:00 means 6:00 PM.

Can I record my voice for mealtime?

Yes. Many VOLUAS feeders include a voice recording function that lets you record up to 10 seconds of audio to call your pet at mealtime.

Why does the voice recording sound different from my real voice?

Small built-in speakers may make recordings sound lighter, softer, or less clear than your original voice. For the best result, record in a quiet room and speak clearly near the microphone.

Can I turn off the voice recording?

Yes. If your pet does not respond well to the sound or you prefer silent feeding, you can choose not to use the voice recording feature.

How often should I clean the feeder?

Clean the bowl and food contact parts regularly. For best results, wipe the food tank and dispenser area when refilling, and make sure all parts are dry before adding food.

Is the bowl removable?

Many VOLUAS feeders include a removable bowl for easier cleaning. Please check your model before washing.

Can the stainless steel bowl go in the dishwasher?

If your model includes a removable stainless steel bowl, the bowl may be easier to clean separately. For the plastic feeder body, wipe clean and do not submerge the electronic base.

What is the desiccant bag for?

The desiccant bag helps reduce moisture inside the food tank and helps keep dry food fresher between meals.

How often should I replace the desiccant bag?

Replace the desiccant bag regularly, especially in humid environments or when refilling the feeder often. Generally, it is replaced every 4 weeks, but the replacement interval should be adjusted based on the operating environment. Do not open, tear, or allow pets to eat the desiccant bag.

Why is food not dispensing?

Check that the feeder has power, the schedule is set correctly, the food tank is filled, and the kibble is dry and not too large. Remove any stuck kibble from the chute and clean the dispensing area before testing again.

Why does the feeder dispense less food than expected?

Different kibble sizes and shapes can change the actual portion weight. Increase the portion number gradually and test the amount until it matches your pet’s needs.

Why does the feeder dispense at the wrong time?

Check that the system clock is set to your local time, then review each meal schedule. If the feeder uses a 24-hour clock, confirm AM and PM times carefully.

My pet tries to knock over or open the feeder. What should I do?

Place the feeder on a flat, stable floor away from edges or counters. Make sure the top lid is locked securely. For very strong or curious pets, avoid placing the feeder where it can be pushed off a surface.

Pet Water Fountain Questions

Why should I use a pet water fountain instead of a regular bowl?

Flowing water can help make drinking more appealing to pets. A fountain also helps keep water circulating instead of sitting still in an open bowl.

Which VOLUAS fountain is best for cats?

For cats, VOLUAS offers options such as the 3.2L stainless steel wireless fountain and the 2.2L ceramic fountain. Choose based on your preferred material, capacity, power style, and cleaning routine.

Which VOLUAS fountain is best for dogs?

For dogs or multi-pet homes, the 7L / 236oz / 1.8Gal stainless steel dog fountain is designed with a larger capacity and a wider drinking area.

What is the capacity of the 3.2L stainless steel cat fountain?

The 3.2L fountain holds 108oz of water and is suitable for cats and small pets.

What is the capacity of the ceramic cat fountain?

The ceramic cat fountain holds 2.2L / 74oz of water.

What is the capacity of the large dog water fountain?

The large dog water fountain holds 7L / 236oz / 1.8Gal of water.

Is the 3.2L stainless steel fountain wireless?

Yes. Compatible VOLUAS 3.2L stainless steel fountain models are cordless and battery-powered for flexible placement.

Is the ceramic fountain wireless?

No. The ceramic fountain is a plug-in fountain.

What drinking modes does the wireless fountain have?

Wireless VOLUAS fountains may include Continuous Flow, Motion Sensor Mode, and Timer Mode. Please check your specific model for available modes.

What is Motion Sensor Mode?

Motion Sensor Mode activates water flow when your pet approaches the fountain. This helps save battery power while still offering fresh flowing water when your pet is nearby.

What is Timer Mode?

Timer Mode releases water at regular intervals. It is designed to keep water moving while helping conserve battery life.

What is Continuous Flow Mode?

Continuous Flow Mode keeps water circulating continuously. This mode is useful for pets that prefer constant moving water and requires the device to be plugged in.

Is the fountain quiet?

VOLUAS fountains are designed for quiet daily use. If you hear unusual noise, check the water level, clean the pump, and make sure all parts are installed correctly.

Why is my fountain making noise?

A noisy fountain is often caused by low water level, trapped air, a dirty pump, or hair and debris around the impeller. Add water, clean the pump, and reinstall the parts securely.

Why is there no water flow?

Check that the fountain has enough water, the pump is connected correctly, the filter is fully soaked, and the pump is clean. Hair or debris inside the pump can block water flow.

Why does the pump stop working?

The pump may stop if the water level is too low, the pump is clogged, the battery is low, or the parts are not installed correctly. Clean the pump, refill the fountain, charge the battery if applicable, and restart the unit.

How often should I clean the pump?

Clean the pump regularly to remove hair, mineral buildup, and debris. For homes with multiple pets or heavy use, clean more often. Generally, recommended to clean the water pump once every 1–2 weeks, depending on usage.

How often should I replace the fountain filter?

Replace filters every 2–4 weeks depending on water quality, number of pets, and usage. For the 7L dog fountain filters, we recommend replacing filters every 4 weeks, or more often in multi-pet homes.

Do I need to soak the filter before use?

Yes. Soak new filters in clean water before installation. For 7L dog fountain filters, soak for 5 minutes before use to help ensure proper water flow.

What do the filters remove?

VOLUAS fountain filters help trap hair, debris, odors, and impurities. Some filters include activated carbon, ion-exchange resin, non-woven fabric, and a pre-filter sponge.

What is the pre-filter sponge for?

The pre-filter sponge helps catch hair and debris before they reach the pump, helping support smoother water flow and longer pump life.

Can I use third-party filters?

We do not recommend using third-party filters, as water pump issues resulting from the use of non-official filters are not covered by our after-sales service; we recommend using our official filters.

Which filters fit the 3.2L stainless steel fountain?

Use filters designed for VOLUAS 108oz / 3.2L stainless steel fountains, including compatible 309A, 309B, and 309C models.

Which filters fit the 7L dog water fountain?

Use filters designed for the VOLUAS 1.8Gal / 7L / 236oz wireless stainless steel pet fountain.

Which filters fit the 2.2L ceramic fountain?

Use filters designed specifically for the VOLUAS 2.2L / 74oz ceramic cat fountain.

Can I put the stainless steel bowl in the dishwasher?

The stainless steel water tray or bowl may be easier to clean separately. For electronic parts, pump, battery compartment, and base components, do not place them in the dishwasher.

Can I put the ceramic fountain in the dishwasher?

The ceramic parts are designed to be easy to clean, and many ceramic components can be cleaned by hand or in the dishwasher. Remove all electronic parts, pump, and cables before washing.

Why does my pet not drink from the fountain right away?

Some pets need time to adjust to a new water source. Place the fountain in a familiar quiet area, keep the old water bowl nearby for a short transition period, and allow your pet to explore it at their own pace.

Can I use the fountain outdoors?

VOLUAS fountains are mainly designed for indoor use. Avoid placing electronic or battery-powered fountains where they may be exposed to rain, extreme temperatures, or direct outdoor conditions.

How do I know when to refill the fountain?

Check the water level regularly. Some models include a visible water window or indicator to help you monitor the remaining water.

What does a flashing red light mean?

A flashing red light usually indicates that the fountain needs attention, such as low battery, or another operating alert. Charge the battery if applicable, and check that the pump and parts are installed correctly.

Can the fountain run while plugged in?

Yes, all of VOLUAS wireless models may support use while plugged in or charging.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life depends on the mode, usage frequency, number of pets, and water flow settings. Motion Sensor and Timer modes usually use less power than Continuous Flow mode.
